Q : What is the General Registration Period? |
| |
A : The period during which you may register your dotmobi domain name through an accredited registrar is referred to as the General Registration Period. It continues indefinitely and is open to any individual, business, or organisation who wishes to register a dotmobi domain name. |

Q : Who is eligible to register a domain name during the General Registration Period? |
| |
A : Anyone may register a .mobi domain name during the General Registration Period as long as they agree to the terms and conditions set forth by a dotmobi accredited registrar. |

Q : If I register a .mobi domain name during the General Registration Period, can the general public review it? |
| |
A : Any domain names registered during the General Registration Period will be publicly available for review through the .mobi WHOIS service. |

Q : What is the WHOIS service? |
| |
A : As the name implies, WHOIS databases keep track of everyone “who is” registered in all domains. While there exists a central WHOIS database, typically registrars of domain names also maintain their own WHOIS databases. For dotmobi domain names, the WHOIS database will be available soon. |

Q : If I register a domain name during the General Registration Period, can it be challenged? |

A : Any domain names registered during the General Registration Period are susceptible to challenge. The vehicle for challenging can be found in the ICANN Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy. For details see

Q : How long can a name be challenged if I register it during the General Registration Period? |
| |
A : Regardless of when it was registered, any dotmobi domain name is subject to challenge at any time as long as the ICANN Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy is followed. There is no time limit. |

Q : What are the registration terms for domains names registered during General Registration? |
| |
A : If you register a dotmobi domain name during the General Registration Period, the minimum registration period is two (2) years. The maximum number of years you may register a dotmobi domain name for currently is ten (10). |

Q : If I register a dotmobi domain name during the General Registration Period, how long must I wait before I can transfer it? |
| |
A : For domain names registered during the General Registration Period, transfers cannot be done until 60 days after the date of initial registration. And transfers can only be done between dotmobi accredited registrars. |
